Hello There!

We’ve already introduced ourselves a little on our home page, however, we thought we’d say just a little blurb about each of us; and provide you with our contact info!

Papa Tanner is our co-founder, father, resident horticulturist, and animal lover. A landscape designer by day, and farmer by night. A lover of all things outdoors, yet also a huge fan of a good book or a new Lego set. Lego botanical sets are obviously a favorite in our house. He also dabbles in writing, drawing, & music. He’s quite a talented ukulele player, inspired heavily by Jake Shimabukuro, which is actually what won Mama Megan over when they began dating.

Mama Megan is our co-founder, mother, resident event coordinator, and in-house educator. Stay-at-home-mom by day, still-a-mom at night. Huge fan of the arts, people, and the study of nutrition. Food in her mind is a necessity of life, form of self-expression, and a tool for building community. Her home cooking is a highlight in Papa Tanners day.

Berry is our oldest & our resident florist. She has a natural eye for color & design. She’s also a natural cat person even though her allergies disagree. Look up the definition of warrior princess and you’ll find Berry listed there.

Brutus is our oldest boy & our construction intern. He loves learning about & watching Papa Tanner use tools or build something. He’s quite the little helper, when he wants to be. That’s the catch though, he’s very self motivated.

Bard is our youngest son, and our resident artist. He’s a fan of most music, art, & books. He also never hesitates to taste test our culinary creations. His real artistic talent is his rhythm & singing voice.

Penelope or Penny is our Belgian Shepherd & Huskie Mix and is the head of security. Loyal to the family, with a very Loud personality. You’ll likely hear her greet you when you stop by. Her talent: blending in perfectly to almost any surrounding except snow.

Kiah is our Border Collie & Beagle mix and our lead shepherd. Affectionately called Nana Kiah is always watching over her flock. You will also likely hear her greet you & you’ll recognize the beagle in her baying. Her special skill, always knowing when someone needs something.

Geraldine, Rosemary & Hazel are our three Cayuga Swedish mix duckies & our original ducks on the farm. They are a bit skittish, & they could fly if they wanted to, hence the fully fenced enclosure; we didn’t want them spooking and flying the coop literally. However, most of the time they are happy to just sit with you. If they bob their heads at you that’s their way of saying, “Hello!” *picture coming soon*

Pro. Tip for if you want to befriend a duck:
1) Look at them with your head tilted sideways, kinda looking out of one eye (looking with both eyes head on is a predatory behavior – we are predators after all)
2) Then bob your head. You can talk to them sweetly saying hello etc. while bobbing your head.
3) They eventually will cock their head at you curious & then bob back.

Ash is our Siamese Tabby mix and is our resident pest control specialist. His favorite pass time is laying behind our woodstove in our fireplace or in our planters. He’s secretly terrified of rodents, despite his job description. He tolerates his canine coworkers & thankfully isn’t a fan of birds.
